The second project is a run-of-the-river plant located near Baijnath, Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh harnessing waters of a tributary of Beas River. The plant’s head is 90 meters and includes a weir, desilting tank, and directing water through a 1.5 km penstock.  

  There’s an overground Powerhouse and transmission line to supply power to the Himachal Pradesh grid through the Baijnath Substation. Achieving commissioning in 2013, the plant was constructed by Sai Shakti Solutions, an associate firm of Sai Engineering Foundation, and financed with a long-term secured debt facility underwritten by the Indian Overseas Bank. 

 The generators are from TD Power Systems, a Bengaluru-based firm with Japanese technology partnerships, and the runners for the Turbines are from Gugler Water Turbines GmbH (Austria). The Francis Turbines and the balance of parts are from Boom Systems, an Indian manufacturer of turbines.
